The University of North Texas (UNT) Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life advocates a Standards of Excellence program to promote a high-quality level of performance among all fraternities and sororities on campus. The Standards of Excellence program has been designed with several goals in mind: to assess chapter performance, address areas that the university and/or individual chapter(s) feel are of concern, provide avenues to recognize progressing and/or excelling chapters, enrich the diversity of the fraternity and sorority community, and elevate the quality of education and student experience at UNT.
While the Standards of Excellence will serve as a benchmark and illustrate the successes of individual chapters, the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life will continue to actively assist with and develop chapter strategies for chapters and their members.
Grading Rubric
Chapters will earn stars based on the number of points they earn during the academic year. Scoring will take into account the holistic execution of the fraternity and sorority experience. This rubric is designed to encourage chapters to have varied and expansive programming that positively impacts the UNT community. This grading scale represents what CFSL has identified as the core tenets and goals of the fraternity and sorority experience and hope this helps chapters in planning their efforts for the academic year. Chapter scorecards will be posted on the CFSL website each year.
